Recipe:

1. Go to remote cabin heated by woodstove, with dialup internet access.
   Wait until the morning fire is burnt down to coals. That would be a
   perfect rustic way to bake some cornbread in a dutch oven.
2. Start loading page http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/corn-bread
3. After text has loaded, but before all images and other assets are 
   loaded, over the next 10 minutes or so, start following
   instructions to make cornbread.
4. Get knocked offline by phone call.
5. While taking last look at recipe, the displayed page is suddenly
   replaced with this error message:
     Unable to connect
     Iceweasel can't establish a connection to the server at
     www.tasteofhome.com.

I hope this shows how this behavior can be very frustrating. FWIW,
chromium never behaves this way; a failure to load part of the page or
an asset just results in a partially loaded page being displayed.
